Origin · why Green Oath
Why a goat swears an oath.
The scapegoat: pile the blame on the animal, drive it into the desert, feel clean. The one ritual nobody was allowed to verify — belief was the whole mechanism.
GOAT + OATH = $GOATH. Green is the color of a check that passes — our own oath green, nobody's brand. It also nods to the old greenwood: the forest as a public ledger.
The goat no longer carries your sins away. It takes an oath and shows the receipts.
